Description

Wholesome Slow Cooker Mac and Cheese is a comforting dish that combines creamy pasta with nutritious ingredients and is designed for convenience, allowing you to prepare it effortlessly in a slow cooker.


Ingredients

16 oz Elbow Macaroni
1/2 cup Unsalted Butter, melted
4 cups Whole Milk
1 cup Heavy Cream
4 cups Sharp Cheddar Cheese, freshly grated
1 cup Gruyere Cheese, freshly grated (optional)
8 oz Cream Cheese, softened
1 tbsp Dijon Mustard
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp Onion Powder
1/2 tsp Smoked Paprika
1 tsp Salt (to taste)
1/2 tsp Black Pepper, freshly ground


Instructions

  1. Lightly grease the inside of your slow cooker with unsalted butter
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter, whole milk, heavy cream, cream cheese, and Dijon mustard until smooth
  3. Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper
  4. Gradually mix in two-thirds of the cheddar and gruyere cheese until melted
  5. Pour uncooked elbow macaroni into the slow cooker, then pour the cheese sauce mixture over it and stir to combine
  6. Cover and cook on LOW for 2 to 3 hours or HIGH for 1 to 1.5 hours until pasta is al dente
  7. minutes before finishing, stir and add the remaining cheese on top, then cover to melt
  8. Serve warm after stirring to combine
