Description

Quick Chicken Breast and Green Beans is a simple, flavorful weeknight meal featuring juicy seared chicken breasts and crisp-tender green beans, all enhanced with a touch of garlic, paprika, and fresh lemon juice. Ready in under 30 minutes, it’s perfect for busy families seeking a wholesome, one-pan dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

1.5 lbs (2 large) boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed

3 tbsp olive oil, divided

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp paprika (sweet or smoked)

1 tsp salt, plus more to taste

1/2 tsp black pepper, freshly ground

2 tbsp fresh lemon juice

1/4 cup chicken broth (optional)

Instructions

1. Pat chicken breasts dry and slice horizontally into 4 thinner cutlets.

2. Season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.

3. Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

4. Add chicken and cook 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 165°F. Remove and keep warm.

5. Add remaining tablespoon olive oil to skillet. Add green beans, season with salt and pepper, and cook 5-6 minutes until crisp-tender.

6. If using, add chicken broth to deglaze the pan, scraping up browned bits.

7. Return chicken to skillet, nestle among green beans, and drizzle with lemon juice.

8. Heat through for 1 minute, then serve immediately.

Notes

Bring chicken to room temperature before cooking for even doneness.

Resist moving chicken around; allow golden crust to develop.

Trim green beans efficiently by lining up and cutting together.

For thicker green beans, blanch for 2 minutes before adding to skillet.

Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure chicken reaches 165°F.

Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator up to 3 days or frozen up to 2 months.
