Description
Jack-O-Lantern Smoothie Bowls are a festive fall breakfast made with pumpkin puree, frozen bananas, yogurt, and warm spices, then decorated with fruit faces for a playful, nutritious start to the day.
Ingredients
2 frozen bananas
1/2 cup pumpkin puree
1/2 cup Greek yogurt or dairy-free yogurt
1/2 cup milk of choice
1–2 tablespoons maple syrup or 2 pitted dates (optional, for sweetness)
1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon
1/2 cup orange segments or mango
Toppings: banana slices, blueberries, granola, pepitas, coconut, cacao nibs
Instructions
1. Freeze serving bowls for 10–15 minutes before preparing the smoothie base.
2. In a blender, combine frozen bananas, pumpkin puree, yogurt, milk, pumpkin pie spice, and sweetener if using. Blend on low, scraping sides as needed, until smooth and thick.
3. Spread smoothie mixture into chilled bowls and smooth the tops.
4. Decorate with banana slices for smiles, blueberries for eyes, pepitas for eyebrows, and other toppings as desired to create jack-o-lantern faces.
5. Serve immediately while thick and frosty.
Notes
Use mostly frozen fruit and minimal liquid for spoon-thick texture.
For dairy-free, use coconut yogurt and plant-based milk.
Freeze coconut milk in cubes to add creaminess without watering down the smoothie.
Decorate quickly before smoothie warms for best jack-o-lantern faces.
