Description

This Halloween Smoothie Bowl blends frozen fruit into a thick, spoonable base that holds spooky designs like spider webs or monster faces. With bold colors, crunchy toppings, and fun decorations, it’s a festive and kid-friendly breakfast for October mornings.

Ingredients

Base (choose one):

– 2 cups frozen mixed berries or acai

– 2 frozen bananas

– 1 cup pumpkin puree + 1 cup frozen mango

Liquid (minimal):

– 1/4–1/2 cup milk or dairy-free milk

– OR 1/2 cup yogurt for extra thickness

Color boosters:

– 2 tbsp cocoa or black cocoa

– 1–2 tsp activated charcoal

– 1–2 cups spinach

– 1–2 tsp pumpkin pie spice

Sweetener:

– 1–2 tbsp maple syrup or honey, to taste

Toppings:

– Yogurt (for spider web)

– Pumpkin seeds

– Blackberries

– Kiwi slices

– Banana coins

– Shredded coconut

– Cacao nibs

Instructions

1. Chill serving bowls for 10 minutes so the base holds designs and toppings well.

2. Add frozen fruit, yogurt, minimal liquid, and any boosters to a blender. Blend thick and smooth, scraping sides as needed.

3. Taste and adjust sweetness with maple or honey; blend briefly to mix.

4. Spoon into chilled bowls and smooth the surface evenly.

5. Pipe concentric yogurt rings with a zip-top bag; drag a toothpick from center outward to create spider webs.

6. Decorate with toppings: pumpkin seeds for teeth, kiwi for eyes, coconut as ghosts, cacao nibs for crunch.

7. Serve immediately so the designs stay sharp and the base stays frosty.

Notes

Always use 100% frozen fruit for a thick, spoonable base.

Add liquid one tablespoon at a time only if the blender struggles.

Black cocoa gives a deep spooky color and chocolate flavor.

Pre-cut toppings before blending to keep assembly fast.

Freeze banana coins 10 minutes before topping so they hold shape.
