Description

Creepy Crawly Cinnamon Rolls are festive, sticky spirals topped with glossy icing, chocolate webbing, and playful pretzel-leg spiders. Use canned rolls for a quick shortcut or homemade dough for a weekend bake—either decorates beautifully for Halloween brunch or a spooky dessert board.

Ingredients

Scale

1 tube (8–10) refrigerated cinnamon rolls with icing (or 9 homemade rolls)

2 tbsp brown sugar (optional, for extra filling)

1 tsp ground cinnamon (extra)

1/2 cup mini chocolate chips (for melting webs or bodies)

1820 candy eyes

1624 pretzel sticks (for spider legs)

1 cup powdered sugar

23 tbsp milk or cream (to thin icing)

1 tsp vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

Instructions

1. Preheat oven according to package or recipe directions (typically 350–375°F). Line a baking pan with parchment.

2. If using canned rolls, unroll each spiral and sprinkle a little extra brown sugar and cinnamon, then reroll for extra filling.

3. Arrange rolls in the prepared pan and bake 14–20 minutes until puffed and lightly golden at the edges.

4. While rolls cool 3–5 minutes, whisk powdered sugar, milk, vanilla, and salt until thick but pourable to refresh or augment the included icing.

5. Melt mini chocolate chips until smooth and transfer to a piping bag or squeeze bottle. Pour or spread icing over warm rolls.

6. Pipe concentric circles of chocolate over the icing, then drag a skewer or toothpick outward from center to form spiderwebs.

7. For spiders, place a small dab of melted chocolate as glue, press a chocolate chip or M&M for the body, add candy eyes, and insert pretzel stick legs (4 per side).

Notes

Ice the rolls while still warm for best adhesion and glossy finish.

Keep melted chocolate slightly warm for smooth piping; cool chocolate will make jagged lines.

Anchor pretzel legs with a dab of chocolate so they stay in place.

For speed, use canned rolls; for texture and flavor control, use homemade dough.

To make ahead: bake unfrosted, freeze, then warm, ice, and decorate before serving.
